Room 406, Thursday evening

The door's open, but there's a whiteboard propped on a box in the hallway next to it that says,

"Last night in 406 before I move down to the first floor. Wander in if you want, unless you're a vampire. There's foodity. ~Xander (the one without the accent)"

Inside, Xander's desktop is pretty much empty of everything but a selection of snacks and drinks. Xander's side of the room is pretty close to empty, and on the wall where his posters used to be, a multilingual robot doggie is projecting a marathon of The Real World: Springfield.

Xander's bed is shoved up against one wall, pillows thrown around to make it couchlike for sitting thereupon. As you do.

Inside, you'd find Xander, Isabel, and Bridge hanging out. And RIC, of course.

Xander shook his head. "Sadly, I've been corrupted by the hype. Second floor is in fact the cool common room, and I don't even live down there."

"There's so many! How are we supposed to keep track?" Alanna? Still dazed. "Is there food?"

Z is getting kind of tired of introducing herself, but she appreciates Alanna's bluntness. "I'm Z. And you?"

"Ha ha ha." Alanna rolled her eyes. "I don't even know what the other Peter's look like."

The mental image of a tiny, blue-haired lady hitting Peter with her cane was enough to make Isabel burst out laughing. "So you let the little old ladies fend for themselves then?"

"Well if you do sign up for karate, no using your powers to beat up on me. Otherwise I'll have to use mine to fling acorns at you or something."

"It's possible," Bridge says. "And C-Squad is like... okay, there's like, D-Level and C-Level and B-Level and A-Level? But there's also D-Squad and C-Squad and B-Squad and A-Squad."

"I haven't even tried," Isabel said. "I've only met a few, even though I was in the common room last night. I haven't see that many people up here since Monopoly night." She waved her hand at Xander's desk, "Help yourself. It's the best J,GoB has to offer."

"Eltar?" Z asked, wondering if she'd misheard. "Yeah, I was kind of...recruited. It all happened very fast."

Xander nodded. "Yup. Moving down to the first floor tomorrow, with the rest of the stickees, so this is the last night with my roomie. Tomorrow I magically turn into a grownup." He snickered. "Or not."

"Across the street, yeah. Otherwise they yell 'Mugger!' and start hitting," Peter explained.

"And don't worry, I don't beat up on girls unless they beat up on me first. Which happens more often than you'd think."

"How many new students are there? Two-hundred? And J,GoB rules us all." Alanna nodded and grabbed a pastry, feeding little pieces to Faithful.

"And they're all different?"

"Antar, with an A. Or at least that's what we've been told," Isabel said. "The crash pretty much screwed things up for us and we've been on our own. Recruited and sent to Fandom? Well I suppose it could be worse, they could have sent you to Marine boot camp or something."

Xander might have muttered something along the lines of "Locks. Locks are nice. Possibly with chains attached."

He might have heard how that sounded while he was muttering it and regretted it shortly thereafter, granted.
