Normal people probably wouldn't choose the color of their shirt based on what might seem to be ulterior motives, either.

And they definitely wouldn't spend the next couple of hours quietly playing Spider Solitaire and vaguely fretting that the guy running detention might be disappointed in them for landing there.⁽²⁾

So it's a good thing Xander didn't do any of that. Yup.
