Room 121, Early Friday Evening

It's not exactly flowers and candles. Xander can do flowers and candles, and honestly he's the type who would, if Bridge were a girl. But he's not, and there's all this buzzing in Xander's brain when he asks himself if guys do stuff like that for themselves or just for girls in which case no, and if he's the kind of guy who just might be an exception to that, does it make him way too girly in a way that has nothing to do with the fact that he's dating a guy? So yeah, not so much because it makes his head hurt.

There's glitter, though. He really can't escape that, considering he's vacuumed three times and it's still twinkling in the carpet. There's also takeout from Ching Tai on the counter, something tall-ish in the corner with a sheet thrown over it, and music - not Steely Dan, it might confuse the frog - playing. Because he's fairly confident that guys can do music and still be guys.

"You could get me a package of ballpoint pens and I'd still think it was the best thing ever," Bridge says honestly. "Because it was a gift from you."

Xander turning his back? That's entirely because he's walking over to the sheet-covered thing in the corner, and not because he's trying to hide the doofiest smile a human being has ever produced. Yup.

"There you go with the psychic powers again, ruining the surprise..."

If it's a package of ballpoint pens, it's a big one, since it's about as tall as Bridge. Xander points to it, indicating that Bridge should, you know. Unwrap it. As you do.

Bridge pulls the sheet away to reveal- a bookshelf with a green bow stuck to it. A rather familiar looking bookshelf, actually- the one that had been abandoned in favour of other things two months ago. With a book resting on one of the shelves.

He picks up the book and grins one of those "so wide it takes up your entire face" grins when he sees his name written with glitter on the cover.

"This? Is awesome." Bridge says, flipping the book open to the first page.

"The shelves were kind of always for you," Xander says, peeking over his shoulder. Well, okay, looming over his shoulder. "The book was a little more recent."

"Thaaaat's what you were doing, last weekend." Bridge says. "I knew you were up to something!" He's flipping through the rest of the book, occasionally tracing things lightly with the fingers of one hand. "I love it. I love *you*." He turns around, and kisses Xander soundly. "Thank you."

"I love you back." His tone is very, very serious.

Even when he adds, "And you front too."

"Dork." Bridge smiles and shakes his head.

"Dork with food, though," Xander points out, since his new phone isn't all that's on the counter. "That's rapidly getting cold, though since I'm a dork with a microwave I guess that might not be so big an issue."

"Food could be a thing," Bridge says, and his stomach makes a little rumbly noise in agreement.

"It's just Chinese, but I figured hey, that's where we had our first date, so..." Xander fetches cartons and boxes from the counter to the bed, because like he ever bought stools so you could actually sit at the counter? Not so much.

"It was a good figuring," Bridge says with a nod, moving to join Xander on the bed.
