Room 406, Thursday evening

The door's open, but there's a whiteboard propped on a box in the hallway next to it that says,

"Last night in 406 before I move down to the first floor. Wander in if you want, unless you're a vampire. There's foodity. ~Xander (the one without the accent)"

Inside, Xander's desktop is pretty much empty of everything but a selection of snacks and drinks. Xander's side of the room is pretty close to empty, and on the wall where his posters used to be, a multilingual robot doggie is projecting a marathon of The Real World: Springfield.

Xander's bed is shoved up against one wall, pillows thrown around to make it couchlike for sitting thereupon. As you do.

Inside, you'd find Xander, Isabel, and Bridge hanging out. And RIC, of course.

"The Real World: Springfield," Isabel said. "Stupid people, living together, competing to see who can be more stupid. And then they add alcohol."

"That's why we mock," Isabel said. "It helps take away some of the pain."

"A good plan," Callisto said.

"Exactly. I find the worst part is trying to keep from throwing things at the screen. Only because eventually I'll have to clean it up," she said.

"So where's tall, dark, and broody tonight?"

"For now?" Isabel asked dreading the answer.

"He's leaving," Callisto said, still focused on the wall. "Tomorrow."

"Oh Cal..." Isabel said quietly. "I'm sorry."

"Why?" Callisto asked. "Not you fault. Unless of course, you're the one who gave him the destiny."

"No, but if I ever do find out who gives out destinies? I'll be sure to kick them in the shins. I've got one of my own I'm not too thrilled with." She sighed, "I'm sorry because it sucks when people leave and you're the one left behind."

"I'm used to it by now," Callisto shrugged. "And it's my own damn fault for letting myself care."

"But life would be pretty lonely if you didn't let yourself care about people," Isabel said.

"I spent over six years being alone, I can learn to deal with it again."

And there's not much Isabel can say to that. Because despite everything, she's always had Max and Michael there to support her. She's never truly been all alone. "You won't be alone. You've got friends here."
