When Xander lets himself into his room after returning fromthepark, he's sticky, tired, melon-scented, and, quite frankly, rather squelchy. He's got jello in his shoes.
"I was working on a project, and then I was reading this really good book, and I guess I just forgot," Bridge waves a hand. "But what happened to *you*? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say getting covered in melon-Jello was *not* part of the plan when you went to go watch the race."
"Oddly, no." Xander frowns upwards at his hair, and dislodges a bit of jello that's about to fall on his nose, then shrugs. "But then there were dragons. So I ate one."
For someone who comes from a reality where things like purses and traffic lights were routinely transformed into giant monsters, he seems awfully surprised at this.
"...Why?" Bridge asks. After a moment, he adds, "were there dragons in the first place. I'm sure Professor Tick had his reasons for handling the pudding dragon on his own."
"No idea," Xander says, shrugging and dripping jello-gunk on the floor. "They just swooped down out of the sky and started shooting slime at us. I guess I could've tried asking what they wanted, not that my Dragon is that great, but they didn't seem all that yakky."
"Still a legitimate cause for concern," Bridge notes, making himself go crosseyed as he attempts to look at the spot on his forehead where the Jello bits splattered.
He then reaches out and grabs Xander's wrist before any *more* Jello can fly his way.
The word 'shower' is lurking somewhere in the back of Xander's head, and it'll probably make its way to his mouth eventually, but really he's in no hurry.
