Thursday, Room 121, all day (general goodbye post)

Xander's already handwavily sent out e-mails letting people know his new cellphone number if they didn't have it already, and his UC Sunnydale e-mail address, and... when he's leaving. Which he finally has to say 'tomorrow morning' about instead of 'Friday' because they're one and the same.

Now... he's still packing. Posters, folders, last-minute items and just stuff he wanted to leave up for as long as possible to make the room acknowledge that for now, he still lives here. Every so often he and Bridge are taking a break to look at pictures or watch a dvd, because at this point he's on the flipside of where he was yesterday: if he packs too fast, the room'll be empty, and Xander can't quite take that, not yet.

You can't really say Jeremiah's taking a break; he'd have to have been working in the first place for that to be true. He's just going back and forth between supervising the packing and supervising the loafing.

The door is open. Xander's yearbook is on the desk next to Jeremiah, for anyone who feels like signing it.

Alanna stepped into the room, Faithful on one shoulder, and a book shaped package in her hand. "Hey."

Xander waved at them. "There's food. No shrimp, though."

"You're not leaving." Alanna informed Xander stubbornly. Faithful mock-glared. "No shrimp? Pffft!"

"Kinda am," Xander said. "Leaving, not shrimp."

Alanna pouted. "No. No fair. Even Faithful will miss you." "No I - well, yeah, I will. Who else am I supposed to insult?"

"There's a whole crop of newbies," Xander pointed out, trying not to look touched. Dammit. "That guy who looks like Angel, for a start. Though I guess that'd be a reason to lay off him 'cause he's got enough afflictions in his life."

"The one who keeps getting punched? Oh yeah, he'll definetly fill the whole you'll leave. Stay. What do you have there that you don't have here?" "Alanna logic, you can't fight it." Faithful informed Xander.

Xander fought hard against giving a serious answer. Really, really hard. He even had 'Vampires! Many, many vampires! You have no idea how much I've been jonesing for a good vampire attack in a dark alley. Also, dark alleys, see above re: many, many' ready on the tip of his tongue.

"A place where I'm supposed to be, I think," is what came out of his mouth.

"You're supposed to be here even though that is very hypocritical of me." Alanna pouted. Faithful sighed and jumped out of her arms to treck up to Xander's shoulder.

Xander didn't even stick out his tongue at Faithful. Except that then he thought no, he should, really. So he did.

"I want to be supposed to be here," Xander said. "I wish-- no, I'm gonna take a rare opportunity to not be profoundly stupid, and not finish that sentence."

Faithful stuck his tongue out at back at Xander and settled down on his shoulder. He then began his favorite game of 'poke the person in the ear with his tail'. "What's wrong with wishing?" Alanna had no idea, really.

"Nothing's wrong with actually wishing, but saying it out loud can have some weird effects back home, if the wrong kind of people overhear," Xander explained. "I don't know if vengeance demons hang around Fandom too, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's somebody out there ready to jump in if you say the wrong thing."

Alanna noddded, pretending she understood a word of that. "This." She cleared her throat. "This is for you. It's uh...well, I have no idea if you even like adventure slash history stories but it's from my world and it takes place about two hundred years ago, which would have been the 200's for us and yeah." She kind of thrust the book at Xander.

"Oh, cool." Xander took it and looked at the cover. "I do like adventure stories, yeah. Okay, admittedly the ones I'm into usually have speech balloons, but I do read the occasional book without pictures."

Alanna smiled weakly. "It was written a few years ago." The book didn't it. It was hand made and had calligraphic lettering. "Um...when? Are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow morning." It kept getting closer, and weirdly, annoyingly esier to say every time he repeated it.

Alanna hovered uncertainly for a second and then gave Xander a very, very tight hug. Faithful continued poking him in the ear.

Xander hugged back, almost grateful for the poking tail, because it stopped him from turning into a complete soppy idiot.

Faithful stopped hugging and did his best to join into the hug. It mostly invovled his tail. "You better call. And write." Alanna wasn't letting go.
